Sentence pattern
A is adjective than B.
↓
A は B より adjective。
or
A のほうが B より adjective。
のほうが
は can be often replaced with のほうが.
Exercise
Task: Change into Japanese.
- Australia is bigger than Japan.
- I am taller than my mother.
- cats are cuter than dogs.
- Planes are faster than bullet trains.
- オーストラリアは日本より大きいです。
- 私は母よりせが高いです。
- ねこは犬よりかわいいです。
- ひこうきはしんかんせんよりはやいです。
Kanji: 日本(に・ほん)、大きい(おお・きい)、私(わたし)、母(はは)、高い(たか・い)、犬(いぬ)
Task: Change into English.
- はは は ちち より きびしいです。
- ケーキ は ドーナツ より おいしいです。
- My mother is more strict than my father.
