  • は → no meaning
  • 五才(ご・さい) → 5 years old
  • のときに → when

Note: のときに

のときに means ‘when’ and is used after a noun. Use ときに after a verb.

Example: noun のときに

  • 五才のときにwhen (the person was) 5 years old
  • 中学一年生のときにwhen (the person was) in Year 7
