Japanese primary students carry this special bag to attend school.
In the video, you can see about 9000 used bags are going to Afghanistan as a donation from Japan to support primary students in the country. Basic stationery such as notebooks and pens will be packed in each bag.
The name of the bag
The bag’s name is Randoseru. Their parents usually prepare the bag for their children, but it can be a present from grandparents to celebrate their primary school enrolment.
The new one costs around 30000 yen. It is not cheap, so some parents cannot afford to buy it, in that case they may look for a second hand one for their kids.
You rarely see Japanese primary students carrying the bag which is different from Randoseru.
