人(にん)
It is used when you count people.

せんせい
Be careful of the first two. The rule after that is ‘number + ni n’.
- 一人(ひとり/hi to ri):one
- 二人(ふたり/fu ta ri):two
- 三人(さんにん/sa n ni n):three
- 四人(よにん/yo ni n):four
- 五人(ごにん/go ni n):five
- 六人(ろくにん/ro ku ni n):six
- 七人(しちにん/shi chi ni n):seven
- 八人(はちにん/ha chi ni n):eight
- 九人(きゅうにん/kyu u ni n):nine
- 十人(じゅうにん/ju u ni n):ten
When you count, put whatever you count first, then the counter.
Example
- three boys: おとこのこ三人
- six girls: おんなのこ六人
- eight teachers: せんせい九人
