人（にん）
It is used when you count people.
せんせい
Be careful of the first two. The rule after that is ‘number + ni n’.
- 一人（ひとり／hi to ri）：one
- 二人（ふたり／fu ta ri）：two
- 三人（さんにん／sa n ni n）：three
- 四人（よにん／yo ni n）：four
- 五人（ごにん／go ni n）：five
- 六人（ろくにん／ro ku ni n）：six
- 七人（しちにん／shi chi ni n）：seven
- 八人（はちにん／ha chi ni n）：eight
- 九人（きゅうにん／kyu u ni n）：nine
- 十人（じゅうにん／ju u ni n）：ten
When you count, put whatever you count first, then the counter.
Example
- three boys: おとこのこ三人
- six girls: おんなのこ六人
- eight teachers: せんせい九人
