You can use following words for anybody.

死ぬ

死ぬ(し・ぬ)is the most common word to say ‘die’ in Japanese.

父が死にました。

(My father died.)

亡くなる

亡くなる(な・くなる)is more polite than 死ぬ.

父が亡くなりました。

(My father died.)

死去する

死去(し・きょ)する is another polite word.

父が死去しました。

(My father died.)

他界する

他界する(た・かい・する)is another polite word. 他 means ‘other’. 界 means ‘world’. 他界する literally means ‘go to the other world (which is heaven)’.

父が他界しました。

(My father died.)

死亡する

死亡(し・ぼう)する is often used in news.

男の子が川で死亡しました。

(A boy died in a river.)

逝く

逝く(い・く)is another polite word. 逝 means ‘die’. It is used in writing such as a heading. It is rarely used in a conversation.

お亡くなりになる

友だちのお父さんがお亡(な)くなりになりました。
