According to + Noun
↓
Noun + によると
Note
によると is followed by a sentence every time.
The sentence must finish with Plain Form + そうです（or ようです）.
Note 2
によると can be によれば.
There is not a big difference between によると and によれば.
Example

According to my father, Karate is difficult.
父によると、空手はむずかしいそうです。

According to the news, Japan won the game.
そのニュースによれば、日本はしあいにかったそうです。
