The company that checks out the information on food chooses ‘one dish for this year’ every year, which is popular food in Japan. They have decided one dish for this year is tapioca with survey responses and words many people searched for on the internet.
According to the company, the number of searches people do to check out tapioca on the internet is 70 times as many as three years ago. The number of shops that sell tapioca has increased three times as many as one year ago.
Tapioca has got popular because photos of drinks which contain tapioca are very pretty and everybody introduces them on the internet. Tapiru which means drinking tapioca drinks has become a buzzword this year.
