There are set phrases to finish up your letter or email in Japanese. They are very handy to use at the end of your writing.

A formal letter

All of them below is the same and you can use them at the end of your writing in a formal letter. They are hard to translate but could mean ‘Please be good (or nice) to me.’ The first one is polite enough. The fourth one is the most polite.

Kanji in the set phrases

何卒(なに・とぞ)
This is an adverb to emphasise 宜しく.

宜しく(よろ・しく)
This means ‘good’.

お願い(お・ねが・い)
This could mean ‘please’. It is used when you ask.

致します(いた・します)
This is a polite word of します.

申し上げます(もう・し・あ・げます)
This is a polite word of 致します.
